CABLE BREAKOUT ATT 3 WAY

CABLE BREAKOUT ATT 3 WAY

An anti-tracking breakout is a molded insulating component designed to cover the phase cores of a cable at the point where the cable’s sheath is removed, splitting into individual cores. It provides insulation, sealing, and tracking resistance at this critical interface.

Tracking” refers to the formation of conductive paths on an insulating surface, often caused by electrical discharges combined with moisture, contamination, or pollution. Tracking can lead to surface electrical breakdowns and eventual system failure if not properly controlled.

The anti-tracking breakout specifically resists the initiation and propagation of these paths, offering a robust protection against:

  • Electrical tracking (especially under wet or polluted conditions)
  • UV degradation (important for outdoor installations)
  • Environmental contaminants like dust, moisture, and chemicals
  • Mechanical damage to separated cable cores
