A Heat Shrink Breakout is an important component used in heat shrink cable jointing and termination kits, particularly in 3-core or 4-core cables. It is used to seal and insulate the area where the multi-core cable splits into individual cores, ensuring mechanical protection and environmental sealing.

Purpose and Function

● Core Separation Protection: It covers the “breakout point” where the main cable sheath ends and the individual cores branch out.

● Environmental Sealing: Prevents the ingress of moisture, dust, and chemicals into the joint or termination point.

● Electrical Insulation: Provides high dielectric strength, helping to prevent tracking and flashovers at the breakout point.

● Mechanical Stability: Reinforces the split section of the cable, protecting it from strain and physical damage.
